Deb Kite


Deb has a heart for serving others, particularly persons and families who are under-served. Deb is a retired teacher, a wife, a mother, a mother-in-law and “Gram”. Deb has served as a preschool teacher at Lawrence United Methodist Church and a substitute teacher and then a full-time teacher at Lawrence Township Schools, where she taught Family and Consumer Science and middle school General Science. She is a graduate of Greenwood High School and Indiana University with a Biology degree and has post-graduate studies at IUPUI. Deb is married to Rev. Bert Kite, retired United Methodist Elder and former Conference Superintendent for the Central and Indianapolis West districts.

She brings to Metro Ministries her experience serving in various capacities at multiple United Methodist churches, her connections with many Central District churches and her continued passion for mission work. She has experienced change first-hand within the Central District and in the United Methodist Church over the years and understands the growing pains that come with change. She is excited to help Metro Ministries continue to grow and adapt, as it has throughout its nearly 100 years of ministry.

Deb has served as Metro’s Secretary since joining the Board in 2020.
